Throne Chair Rental in Maryland: Styles, Events and How to Pair Them With Marquee Letters
Throne chairs in gold, silver, black, white, ivory, red, pink and blue across Maryland, paired with marquee letters, plus park and venue rules to check.

Some rental items fill a room. A throne chair does something more useful: it gives the room a focal point. Whether it is a birthday, a baby shower, a bridal shower or a wedding, guests want a place to sit and pose, and a throne chair makes that moment feel special.
The Photo 360 is based in Temple Hills, MD, and we rent throne chairs for events across Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia. This guide covers the styles and colors we offer, which events they suit, how to pair a throne with light-up marquee letters or numbers, and what to check with a Maryland venue or park before you book. When you are ready, request a quote on our Book Now page.
Throne chair styles and colors
We offer throne chairs as singles and loveseats, in eight colors:
- White: clean and bright, a favorite for weddings, bridal showers and baby showers. It looks good with almost any color scheme.
- Black: bold and formal, great for milestone birthdays, black-and-gold themes and evening events.
- Gold: celebratory and eye-catching, popular for big birthdays and anniversaries.
- Silver: sleek and shiny, a natural fit for winter, anniversary and black-and-silver themes.
- Ivory: soft and warm, a gentler alternative to white for weddings and elegant showers.
- Red: rich and dramatic, great for holiday parties, Valentine's events and bold color schemes.
- Pink: playful and pretty, popular for baby showers, sweet 16s and girls' birthdays.
- Blue: a standout color for guests who want something different from the usual neutrals.
Singles suit one person at a time, such as a guest of honor, a birthday kid or a bride. Loveseats seat two, which is great for couples, best friends, parents with a child, or a duo of honorees. You can see the full lineup on our throne chairs page.
Smaller chairs for younger guests
We have also added throne chairs sized for small children, so a first birthday, a kids' party or a family photo does not have to leave the little ones out. Tell us the ages of your guests when you request a quote and we will recommend a mix of adult and child-size seating.
Events that work well with a throne chair
- Birthdays, from first birthdays to milestone decades. A throne chair makes the birthday person feel like royalty.
- Baby showers and gender reveals. The expectant parents sit as the guests of honor. See our baby shower packages.
- Bridal showers and weddings. A white or gold loveseat works as a photo spot or as sweetheart seating. See our wedding packages.
- Graduations and proms. Students and families love a dedicated photo spot.
- Anniversaries and retirement parties. A loveseat gives couples and honorees a place to be celebrated.
- Corporate and community events. A throne chair is a fun, low-effort photo moment for awards nights and fundraisers.
Pair your throne chair with light-up marquee letters or numbers
The best photo spots tell a story. That is why we suggest pairing a throne chair with our light-up marquee letters and numbers:
- Spell a name, an initial, or a short word such as "LOVE" or "BABY".
- Use a number for the milestone, like a 40, 50 or 60 for a birthday or an anniversary.
- Place the letters or numbers behind or beside the throne so they show in every photo.
Black and gold thrones pair nicely with warm lights; white thrones look soft and elegant against any backdrop; a blue throne with bright letters becomes the most photographed corner of the room. See the options on our marquee letters and numbers page.
Add a balloon garland, a drape or a sequin wall behind the setup and the whole corner reads as a finished backdrop. Our birthday packages show how hosts put these pieces together.
Throne chair rental across Maryland
We serve Maryland communities across the DC suburbs, including Bowie, Upper Marlboro, Silver Spring, Rockville, Gaithersburg and Bethesda, along with the rest of Prince George's and Montgomery counties and nearby areas. Our home base is Temple Hills, so events in the Prince George's County area are close by. Tell us your city and venue when you request a quote and we will confirm availability and delivery details.
If your event is in downtown Silver Spring, our Silver Spring planning guide covers what to check with a county-run event hall. For a closer look at how thrones are used in photos, our throne chair etiquette tips are a useful companion.
Hosting in a Maryland park or community center? Read the rules first
Many Maryland birthdays, showers and graduation parties happen in public park buildings, picnic shelters and community centers. These spaces are popular, but they come with rules that affect what we can set up. The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) publishes the rules for Prince George's County parks, and a few points are worth knowing:
- Power and generators. The county's park building rental agreement states that outdoor picnic shelters, areas and grounds do not have access to electricity and that generators are not permitted. Light-up marquee letters need a power source, so an outdoor shelter is a poor fit unless your park confirms power.
- Tents and canopies. The same agreement and the picnic shelter rental agreement prohibit tents and canopies, so plan your photo corner for inside the building or under the existing roof.
- Decorations. The county's community center rental guidelines require decorations to be removed afterward, with no tacks or staples except on corkboard, and no glitter or confetti. Free-standing setups like a throne and letters are easy to remove cleanly.
- Park Police. The same guidelines say Park Police presence is required when alcohol is served, for groups of 100 or more, and for social events that end after 10 PM. Ask the facility director early so your timeline is approved.
- Rental time. Your rental window must include setup and cleanup, so build in time for vendors to arrive before guests.
We are not affiliated with M-NCPPC, and its rules are updated regularly, so check with the facility before you book. If you are not sure whether your space works, send us the room name and a photo or floor plan and we will tell you what fits.
Hosting in a Montgomery County park? What Montgomery Parks says
Montgomery Parks, also part of M-NCPPC, publishes its own rules and policies for permits, and they differ from Prince George's County in a few ways that matter for rentals:
- Hours. The picnic shelter permit is valid from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM or sunset, whichever comes first, so a December or early spring party has less daylight than you may expect.
- Music and sound. DJs, live bands and amplified music are prohibited in any park area, and the permit FAQ says music may only be heard inside the shelter area. A throne photo corner has no sound at all, which makes it an easy fit.
- Equipment. Generators, moon bounces, inflatables, food trucks, game trucks and similar amusements may be permitted only with prior written approval from Montgomery Parks, and the request is due in writing at least seven business days before the event. A throne chair setup is simple furniture, but if you want light-up letters, confirm power with the park first.
- Tents and canopies. The county's park rules and regulations require authorization for tents, canopies and other structures.
- Signs and banners. The same rules prohibit affixing signs, banners or placards to park property without authorization, so bring free-standing decor instead.
These rules change, so check with the park permit office before you book. If your event is in a county-run hall in downtown Silver Spring, our Silver Spring planning guide covers that case.
Indoor and outdoor setup tips
- Space: leave a clear area around the chair so photographers can step back and guests can line up.
- Surface: firm, level ground is best. For lawns and uneven patios, mention it when you book.
- Backdrop and lighting: a plain wall, drape or the marquee letters behind the chair photograph better than a busy background.
- Timing: schedule photos before the cake or meal so guests are fresh.
- Venue rules: some venues restrict deliveries or setup times. Share your venue's rules with us early.
Photo tips for your throne chair corner
- Light it well. Place the chair where there is even light, and avoid putting a bright window behind it.
- Leave a clear floor. Keep bags, coolers and extension cords out of the frame.
- Plan the first photo. Let the guest of honor sit first, then family, then friends, so the line starts naturally.
- Add height and layers. A taller backdrop, balloons or a drape behind the chair makes the photo look finished.
- Mind the dress. Long gowns and tall hats are easier to arrange if there is room to step in and out.
- Assign a photographer. A friend with a phone, or your hired photographer, should take the staged photos so the host can enjoy the party.
- Have a plan for the little ones. Kids' chairs are lower, so tell your photographer to get on their level.
How to choose the right chair
- Match your theme. Neutral room: any color works. Colorful room: white or black balances it. Bold room: gold or blue adds a statement.
- Single or loveseat? Choose a single for one honoree and a loveseat for pairs or parents with kids.
- Add letters or numbers. If the event is about a person, a milestone or a message, add them.
- Check your date early. Popular colors can book up on busy weekends.
What to expect on the day
Our team delivers and sets up your rental before your guests arrive, so the chair, and any marquee letters or numbers, are ready when the first person walks in. Let us know who your point of contact at the venue is and where the setup should go. When the event ends, we handle breakdown and pickup according to the schedule we agree on in advance. If your plans change, such as a different room or a new start time, tell us as soon as possible so we can adjust.
Throne chair ideas by event
- Birthday: pair a gold or black throne with a marquee number for the age, then let the birthday person take the first photo, followed by family and friends.
- Baby shower: use a white loveseat with marquee letters that spell "BABY" or the baby's name for a soft, classic photo wall.
- Bridal shower: a white or gold loveseat with marquee letters for "BRIDE" or "LOVE" gives the bridal party a spot to pose.
- Anniversary: a loveseat and the number of years in marquee numbers makes a simple, touching photo.
- Wedding: a white or gold loveseat works for the couple's portraits or as sweetheart seating; add their initials in marquee letters.
